MFM ANNOUNCEMENTS
Summer schedule starts next Sunday, May 24. On May 24, Minneapolis Friends Meeting will begin our summer schedule for Sunday programming. This includes a single 10:00 AM meeting for worship each week, alternating between unprogrammed (1st and 3rd Sundays) and semi-programmed (2nd and 4th Sundays). On the 1st Sunday of the month, stay after worship for potluck lunch 11:00 AM – 12:30 PM. On the 2nd Sunday of the month after worship, we hold meeting for business 11:00 AM – 12:30 PM.
Office voicemail is out of order. The phone works, but voicemail is not working. The office manager will troubleshoot next week. In the meantime, in lieu of voicemail, please email office(Replace this parenthesis with the @ sign)minneapolisfriends.org.
Shepherd Scholarship application deadline is June 1. This fund supports future Meeting folks with their education costs. Please apply to the scholarship if you’ve been active and contributing to Minneapolis Friends Meeting for five or more years, or your parents have been. Contact Allen G with questions.
This year’s annual budget for Minneapolis Meeting is just under $139,000. To meet our budgeted obligations, $11,583 per month in contributions is needed. Thank, Friends, for your financial support of the meeting. You can donate on the MFM website, find the offering boxes inside the main doors of the meetingroom, or mail a check. If you would like to set up automatic contributions to the meeting, contact John K, clerk of Stewardship and Finance Committee.
Individuals who feel led to share a prepared message or a reading during semi-programmed worship are asked to contact Joanne E or other members of Ministry and Counsel Committee (M&C). The committee is also looking for closers for semi-programmed worship. Serving as a closer is a ministry of service to the meeting.

May 24 (hybrid). Storytelling with Joyful Aging. Join us in the conference room of the meetinghouse or on Zoom on Sunday, May 24, at 11:15 AM to tell our stories. The original theme was “what were you doing in the 60’s and 70’s?” Still a swell theme. Some people want to tell a different story, well, good!
TIME CHANGE: May 24 (in person). For those who are curious about Minneapolis Meeting’s ownership of plots at Lakewood Cemetery, Linda C will lead a tour of the “Quaker section” on Sunday, May 24. The Quaker graves there go all the way back to the 1870s. We will meet near the chapel (straight ahead from the main gate) at noon (earlier than the time announced in last week’s bulletin.) We’ll drive together to Section 7 to start the tour. Bring a bag lunch and we’ll have a picnic with our Quaker ancestors!
May 31 (hybrid). Postcard-writing with the Peace & Social Concerns Committee. At 11:15 AM, after meeting for worship on Sunday, May 31, come to the conference room or join on Zoom to write postcards to legislators. You can bring your own postcards or use those provided.

May 26 (online). Rise and Repair, a Native-led lobbying group promoting Indigenous rights and environmental protections in Minnesota, will have an end-or-the-year debrief with insights from the 2026 legislative session about climate justice and Indigenous rights advocacy in Mni’ Sota, on Tuesday, May 26 from 6:30 – 7:45 PM. October 10 (in person) Fall Together, an annual retreat held by MFM, is a wonderful opportunity to gather with Friends and rest, relax, renew, re-connect and relish time together in the great outdoors. East Philips Neighborhood Roof Depot project is breaking ground! Beginning May 1, East Philips Neighborhood Institute (EPNI) has a short-term lease for the parking lot while details of a new Purchase Agreement are finalized. Volunteer shifts with Seed Saturdays begin Saturday, May 30, from 11:00 AM – 2:00 PM, then every other Saturday throughout the season. Don’t worry, instructions will be provided; no registration required, just show up! If you have questions, email Forest (forest(Replace this parenthesis with the @ sign)epnifarm.org).
