The Watson Reading Group will meet Tuesday, August 25 from 7:00 – 8:30 PM in the conference room at the meetinghouse and on Zoom. We will continue reading “Patterns of Racial Wounding and Racial Justice in Quaker Communities,” a Pendle Hill Pamphlet by Lauren Brownlee and Zenaida Peterson.
Care and Counsel Committee facilitates pastoral care for Minneapolis Friends Meeting members and attendees, understanding the Quaker tradition that Friends minister to each other. If you’re dealing with illness, grief, a major transition, or a stressful personal problem, we would like to be there for you. Contact committee co-clerks, John S or Ellen S. If a confidential discussion would support you as you make a decision, we will set up a clearness committee with you. Email John to explore that opportunity. Other committee members are Mary G, Jeff N, Mary B, and Jimbo L.
Need a name tag? There is a sign up sheet on the table outside the meetingroom. After you pick up your name tag, please do not replace it on the table. Store it in the long hallway. Mounted on the wall, there are blue displays with pockets for name tags.

September 14 (hybrid). Anton Flores-Maisonet’s lecture, “Love Crosses Borders,” will weave stories from a 25-year journey alongside immigrant communities whose resilience, faith, and struggle have reshaped his understanding of God, neighbor, and belonging. Drawing on experiences of accompaniment, intentional community, and, most recently, a six-year experiment in radical hospitality that has welcomed hundreds of migrants into a Quaker meetinghouse, he will consider how love calls us beyond the borders that divide us.
