NEWS FOR MINNEAPOLIS MEETING FRIENDS
SUNDAY SCHEDULE NEXT SUNDAY – CHRISTMAS DAY: There will be a single meeting for worship on Dec 25th – unprogrammed worship at 11:15.
Mid-Morning Program next Sunday at 10:15: Feel the Love. Join in song, conversation, refreshments, (and movement if you wish) on Christmas Day from 10:15 to 11 am. Bring finger foods and musical instruments. Social Committee will provide drinks.

Legislation to establish a Truth and Healing Commission on Indian boarding schools is moving forward, but the opportunity to begin to right the historic, devastating wrong of Indigenous boarding schools will end Jan. 3. Minneapolis Meeting has approved a minute encouraging support of establishing this commission, Legislation S. 2907/H.R. 5444. The minute is available online (item 10 at https://minneapolisfriends.org/category/business-minutes/) Friends Committee on National Legislation also has resources for conveying your support of the commission to your elected officials: https://fcnl.quorum.us/campaign/35660/
Ministry and Counsel Committee (M&C) asks individuals who feel led to share a prepared message or a reading during semi-programmed worship, to contact John C or other members of M&C. M&C is also looking for closers for both worships. Serving as a closer is a ministry of service to the meeting.

VOLUNTEER
Yemen War Powers Resolution to stop US support for Saudi attacks on Yemen. He is using a Senate procedure that requires a floor vote. FCNL Advocacy Teams have been lobbying for this vote all year, and this vote will be the last chance in this Congress. Friends can support the measure by calling their members of Congress. The Elizabeth Ann Bogert Memoral Fund for the Study and Practice of Christian Mysticism, administered by the Friends World Committee for Consultation, makes annual grants of up to $1000.
