IN THE WORLD OF FRIENDS
Into the Night: Holiness of Darkness, a Pendle Hill first Monday lecture, will be offered Nov 2, 6-8PM (CT) by singing healer, spiritual activist, and interfaith minister, Rhetta Morgan. Look at the hard things that happen in the dark, and how language of darkness can become imbued with bias and limitation. In examining the language and frames around darkness, can we challenge negative connotations and move towards holding the dark as holy? This First Monday program will not only utilize lecture, but also song and meditation. For more and to register, click here.
Friends Committee on National Legislation announced recently that the Advocacy Teams will next focus on ending US support for the Saudis in the war in Yemen. The UN calls the war the world’s worst humanitarian crisis, as the Saudi forces maintain a blockade of ports that supply Yemen’s fuel and food. The US continues to support the Saudis with intelligence, parts, and maintenance for their bombing campaign. The Twin Cities Advocacy team of FCNL invites Friends and others to join in lobbying for peace. Contact Jim H. for more.
