The fall schedule will resume on September 19th: 9AM worship (unprogrammed); 10:15AM mid-morning program; 11:15AM worship (semi-programmed).

Fall Together at Fish Lake: The Fall Together Committee is planning an outdoor gathering of vaccinated Friends at Fish Lake Regional Park on Sat, Oct 9 from 1 – 5PM if there is sufficient interest. Would you attend? On the tentative schedule: worship, a scavenger hunt, hiking/biking, and other fun activities. Fish Lake s beautiful and inviting, and It would be lovely to share time with each other, enjoying the park. Children warmly welcome, since we’ll be outside. The committee is happy to plan the event if there is enough interest. Please contact Clifford G by Sun, Sept 19 if you would like to come to Fall Together. OPPORTUNITIES TO CONNECT WITH MINNEAPOLIS MEETING FRIENDS

Loaves and Fishes, TOMORROW NIGHT, August 30th: Join other metro-area Friends, the Ismaili Community and the Mayim Rabim congregation to provide a nutritious meal at Holy Rosary Church in S Mpls, 2424 – 18th Ave S. There are three shifts to cover the tasks of the meal: meal prep (2-3:30PM); burrito assembly and handing out the meals (4:15-5:30PM,) and clean up (5:15-6:30PM.) Fruit donations, dropped off at Holy Rosary after 2:00, are needed as well. Email Sue K to sign up for a shift to make sure there is sufficient space or to arrange to drop off fruit. Masks, gloves, and hats required. This remains a COVID risk. Sign up to come if you can!

The new cohort of Quaker Voluntary Service Fellows arrives this week! These seven young adults are coming to Minneapolis to live in Quaker community and work at local non-profit organizations.

Marcelle is author of Our Life is Love: the Quaker Spiritual Journey (Inner Light Books, 2016) and a member of Swarthmore Monthly Meeting (PA). She has led workshops at Quaker meetings and retreat centers across the country, including Pendle Hill and School of the Spirit, with a call to help nurture the spiritual vitality and radical faithfulness of Friends and Quakerism today.
Join the Friends for a NonViolent World Holiday Fair Planning Committee! The Holiday Fair, the first weekend of Dec at MFM, is FNVW’s biggest fundraising event of the year. The Holiday Fair includes a craft sale, café, used book sale, values board, photo booth, live music and more. Next year’s fair will also celebrate FNVW’s 40th anniversary! Join the Holiday Fair Planning Committee team to help FNVW raise the funds needed to move our mission forward. A variety of different roles are available. Your skills are needed! Alternatives to Violence Project (AVP) Basic (Virtual) Community Workshop: In the context of a supportive community, you will discover new skills and attitudes to address, prevent, and transform violence. This four-day workshop will offer a holistic, experiential, safe, and lively approach to learning the tools to discover your own power to build safer communities and transform conflict and frustration in your life. Friday evening and Saturday, Septembers 10 – 11 and 17 – 18. The entire workshop will take place via Zoom. Technical assistance available.
