TODAY at the rise of worship: an informal meeting for all attenders and members to season protocols for in-person gathering, in advance of their coming to monthly meeting on July 11.

Planned vocal ministry: Take the opportunity to nurture and encourage each other! If you think someone has a message for the meeting community, recommend them to Ministry and Counsel Committee or encourage them to speak with someone from M&C themselves. Likewise, if you feel you have been given a message to share, contact Bill so a Sunday may be made available to you.

A memorial services for Ralph Hilgendorf, member of Twin Cities Meeting and most recently, of Prospect Hill Meeting, will be July 17, 1:00-2:15 at Friends School of MN, 1365 Englewood Ave, St Paul, followed by fellowship until 4.

The Writing Group will have an informal writing session Mon, July 5th, 7-9PM. This is a chance to connect with each other, writing with prompts and sharing what we write. ALL INVITED, whether or not you have participated before! Contact Jane with questions or for the link.

The Northern Yearly Meeting Middle School Coordinator position is still open! The NYM Children and Youth Committee have yet to receive any applications for the Middle School Coordinator position. Please prayerfully consider if you are led to support and nurture the young people of Northern Yearly Meeting. From Friends for a NonViolent World: The For The People Act (H.R. 1/S.1,) a bold, comprehensive package of democracy reforms, includes independent redistricting commissions, citizen-funded elections, closing the revolving door between government and corporate interests, and protecting voters against discrimination. FNVW and the Minnesota Alliance of Peacemakers (MAP) have organized an event this Wed, July 7th in support of the For the People Act. Join the effort!
Deadline for Democracy Rally and Bridge Brigade Event

Rally from 4-4:30PM in front of Senator Klobuchar’s Minneapolis office (1200 S Washington Ave) to show our appreciation for her ongoing effort to pass the For the People Act and hear from voting rights leaders about why this legislation is vital to our democracy.
Bridge Brigades 6-6PM: Bring energy, banners, and signs to five different bridges. Friends for a NonViolent World will offer a virtual Alternatives to Violence Basic Community Workshop! Discover new skills and attitudes to address, prevent, and transform violence; holistic, experiential, safe, and lively in approach, learn the tools to discover your own power to transform conflict and frustration wherever the find you: Fridays and Saturdays, July 23 – 31. Twin Cities youth speak out against violence, call for a seat at the table! In the wake of increasing violence, American Friends Service Committee’s Youth Undoing Institutional Racism (YUIR) held a press conference in Minneapolis in June. “The proposed safety plans by city leaders like Mayor Frey do not include our voices,” YUIR said. “As the youth who are being most directly impacted by violence in our communities, we need to be at every decision-making table.” See coverage on KARE11, WCCO, and Fox9. After the event, YUIR received several offers to meet with decision-makers.
Northern Yearly Meeting summer Journal deadline is July 23rd. Share your feelings, concerns or insights from the Annual Session in May; offer poetry or reflections on a favorite Quaker theme; send photos, book or film reviews that provide spiritual insights; write about your Meeting or Worship Group activities – all are welcome. Submissions from NYM youth will be featured in a future issue – encourage the children and young adults of your meetings and worship groups to submit their poetry, writing, photos or drawings!
