First day school for youth: Madison Meeting has invited young friends to join other Northern Yearly Meeting youth on Sunday mornings.
– Elementary youth (6-13) will gather 10-10:45AM to consider peacemaking and point of view by exploring the underlying messages of, How Maps Change Things: A conversation about the maps we choose and the world we want;
– Littles (ages 3-6) will gather 10:45-11:15 to read The Kindness Quilt. Young Friends will reflect on, and draw pictures of, what we have done and can do to spread kindness. The pictures will be put together into a screenshot ‘quilt’;

OPPORTUNITY TO CONNECT WITH MINNEAPOLIS MEETING FRIENDS
Monthly Meeting for business will be next Sunday, 9:45-11:15. On the agenda: religious education programming for children; the State of Society Report approval; COVID and the meeting update. Come be part of the discernment.

The Writing Group will have an informal writing session this Mon, May 4th, 7-9PM. This is a chance to connect with each other, writing with prompts and sharing what we write. ALL INVITED, whether or not you have participated before. Contact Jane with questions or interest.

Come hear from Quaker Voluntary Service Mpls/St. Paul Alumni (from the inaugural year, 2018!) about the transformational experience of their QVS program year! There will be music, storytelling, and an open Q&A – Thurs, May 13th, 7-8:30PM. Each year in five cities spanning the country, over 30 young adult QVS Fellows work with various non-profit organizations while living in intentional community and exploring their spirituality. Come hear about the impact QVS has on the lives of these young people and be reminded about the importance of supporting young adults’ spiritual and vocational discernment by supporting the QVS program. Northern Yearly Meeting 2021 Annual Session, May 27-30: “Gonna Keep on Moving Forward.” Yearly Meeting will start Thurs night with a special plenary by the anti-racism working group, will have programming for children and youth as well as the not-to-be-missed talent show! Register your elementary-age child by May 1st to receive supplies for their program. Registration deadline for everybody is May 1.

First Friends Church in Whittier, California offers Peace Camp for children each summer (1st – 8th grade). This year, camp will gather virtually so it can include Quaker Friends from around the world for a week of sharing and fun – Mon, July 19th – Fri, July 23rd, 10 – 11:30AM (PST).
