Explore the foundations of Quaker faith and practice with Mary and Stephen with thirty minutes of worship sharing on a passage from George Fox and the Bible passage on which it is based. Zoom at 11:25AM Wednesdays in July: email Stephen for the link.
In response to the distress over racial injustice, the Peace and Social Concerns Committee is starting a discussion group on the book My Grandmother’s Hands by Resmaa Menakem. We will meet on Zoom on the first and third Tuesdays of the month, 7-8:30PM, beginning Tues, July 21st: email office(Replace this parenthesis with the @ sign)minneapolisfriends.org by noon the preceding Friday for zoom information. The first session will be introductory. Try to get the book by the second session, Aug 4th. We will read the book and do the exercises on our own, then come together to discuss our experiences. You can get an e-book on Amazon, an audio book on Audible, a paperback book at Central Recovery Press, or a hardcover book at Menakem’s website, https://www.resmaa.com/books.
Quaker Voluntary Service Spiritual Nurturers sought. Do you feel called to help support and provide a listening ear and spiritual friendship to a Quaker Voluntary Service Fellow during their year of service and spiritual growth? This year-long commitment, meeting at least once each month (September through July) with the Fellow and participating with other Nurturers at least three times during the year is an important and unique aspect of the QVS program. Contact Lin, Spiritual Nurture Anchor or Mary Ellen, QVS Local Support Committee Clerk to find out more.

Three members of MFM will be attending the Healing Our City worship TOMORROW, 10AM at the prayer tent at Broadway and Bryant Ave N. Healing the Heart of Our City: 30 Days of Silent Prayer is a month-long, African American-led collaborative conceived to add a vital spiritual factor to all the strategic thinking, policy proposals and investments being considered. There is a Northern Yearly Meeting Anti-Racism discussion group currently meeting once a month. MN Council of Churches Refugee Services is continuing its outreach to educate and support refugee families during the corona pandemic. Cloth face masks and Cub grocery gift cards are needed!
