“Community does not necessarily mean living face-to-face with others; rather, it means never losing the awareness that we are connected to each other. It is not about the presence of other people — it is about being fully open to the reality of relationship, whether or not we are alone.”
— Parker Palmer

Come celebrate the Quaker Voluntary Service Fellows, via Zoom for a festive virtual spring gathering and fundraiser, Thursday, May 14, 7:00-8:30 pm.
* QVS is a year-long service experience for six young adult Fellows who come to the Twin Cities to live in community, explore Quaker spirit-led process, and work at six local non-profit organizations. On Thursday, we will hear from Mike Huber and Hilary Burgin from the QVS national office, and meet the current Fellows and members of the Minneapolis/St. Paul QVS Local Support Committee. Each Fellow will share their reflections about working and living in the QVS program, along with how they are meeting the challenges of continuing their service during Covid19.
* Please send financial support to the QVS program as you are able, as costs for running the program in Minneapolis/St. Paul are greater than the annual contributions provided by the local Quaker meetings. (If contributing, please note that your donation is in support of the Minneapolis/St. Paul QVS community and is associated with this 5/14 event.)
* For the link, email office(Replace this parenthesis with the @ sign)minneapolisfriends.org by noon Thursday.
The Northern Yearly Meeting middle school group is meeting online every-other Thurs at 4PM (next on May 21). Want more information? Email office(Replace this parenthesis with the @ sign)minneapolisfriends.org to be put in touch with the coordinator, Seres.
