UPCOMING MEETING EVENTS
There will be a memorial service for Normie Losby next Saturday, March 7th, at 2PM. Normie, the son of Sarah Miller, grandson of Roger Miller, died suddenly on February 16th. If you are willing to bring finger-food for the reception, please let Tom know.
Worship with attention to business is next Sunday, 9:45-11:15. The agenda includes the Nominating Committee’s final committee slate; Stewardship and Finance Committee will present the final budget proposal for next year; State of Society discussion. Come be part of the discernment.
Friends Committee on National Legislation asks for the discernment of monthly meetings and worship groups each year in setting its legislative priorities for the coming year. FCNL relies on the worship and input of Friends across the country to ground its lobbying. How is the Spirit leading us to influence our government today? Please fill out a survey (sent with the bulletin and available on the elevator table) and return to Doug Herron. The mid-morning program on April 5 will be dedicated to this discernment.

Friends for a NonViolent World Story Skills Workshop – How do you tell the story of FNVW? On Wed, March 11th from 6:30 – 9PM. Chris Luehr, a storytelling trainer and presentation coach (Joyful Noize Productions,) will lead a hands-on Story Skills Workshop for FNVW, guiding us through storytelling strategies that help mission-driven organizations engage the broader community. Work together to create a clear, accurate and inspiring narrative about FNVW that we can all use when we talk about FNVW! Pendle Hill’s Radical Faithfulness in Action Program: Are you engaged in social justice organizing work? Wanting to deepen your spiritual practices and connections to sustain you in your work? Radical Faithfulness in Action is designed for you. Led by Matthew Armstead and Erva Baden, it brings together a small cohort of no more than fourteen for three campus residencies (April 2-5; June 25-28; and August 20-23, Thurs evening to Sun noon) and ongoing work and support between residencies. Every Church a Peace Church potluck, Mon, March 16th; 6:30 potluck; 7, Ilhan Omar on How My Muslim Faith has Influenced My Activism. Ilhan Omar is the first Somali-American, the first naturalized citizen from Africa, and the first non-white woman elected to office frm MN. She is also one of the first two Muslim women to serve in Congress. Omar is a member of the Congressional Progressive Caucus and has advocated for a living wage, affordable housing, universal healthcare, student loan debt forgiveness, the protection of Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals, and abolishing U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).
