A group of MFM men have been meeting together for 25 years. Members have supported each other in trying to live out Quaker values through a range of life events. The group has a potluck dinner — and sharing of what’s going on with each of us — every month, and an annual three-day retreat. For the remainder of 2019, the group has open enrollment for men who want to join us in this experience. We are open to all with the understanding that the group is built on commitments to long-term relationships and regular attendance. In January the group will reorganize in a configuration that depends on how many men want to join. Please e-mail office(Replace this parenthesis with the @ sign)minneapolisfriends.org if you are interested, or talk with members: Dave, Jim, Ralph, Jeff, Ed, John, or Rick.
Quaker etiquette: Vocal ministry in worship is a conscientious response to a discerned leading of the Spirit. Speaking in worship can feel vulnerable. Please refrain from entering or leaving the meetingroom while someone is offering vocal ministry. The headsets on the bulletin table can be used in the library to hear what is said in the meetingroom.

COMMUNITY EVENTS
Risking Light, a thought-provoking documentary that explores resilience and the painful process of moving from grief to compassion to forgiveness, will be shown at the Riverview Theatre, 7 PM, this Tues, Nov 19th. From the streets of Minneapolis, the aboriginal lands of Australia, and the killing fields of Cambodia come the powerful stories of three people who had the courage to step out of the tragic darkness of the past to reach for the light of their own compassion. After the film, stay for remarks by Mary Johnson, North Minneapolis resident and the founder of From Death to Life, whose story of meeting and forgiving the man who murdered her son is featured in the film. Presented by Restorative Justice Community Action (RJCA), an organization that works to keep people out of the criminal justice system, and instead connects them back with community, while also giving people that were harmed a voice in the process. eventbrite.com/e/risking-light-tickets-64629312012?discount=RJCA
