“On subjects of which we know nothing, or should I say Beings – we both believe, and disbelieve a hundred times an Hour, which keeps Believing nimble.” ~ Emily Dickinson
You – visitors and regulars – are welcome at the potluck TODAY at the rise of second worship! To regulars, please help with this do-it-ourselves affair by helping to clear tables and wash, dry and put away dishes, tables and chairs.
UPCOMING MEETING EVENTS
Next Sunday at 9:45: Monthly meeting for business. On the agenda – Nominating Committee committee nominations; Fall Together 2019 discussion; Stewardship and Finance Committee budget for 2019-20; State of the Society assignment.
“In our meetings for worship we seek through the stillness to know God’s will for ourselves and for the gathered group. Our meetings for church affairs, in which we conduct our business, are also meetings for worship based on silence, and they carry the same expectation that God’s guidance can be discerned if we are truly listening together and to each other, and are not blinkered by preconceived opinions. It is this belief that God’s will can be recognised through the discipline of silent waiting which distinguishes our decision-making process from the secular idea of consensus. We have a common purpose in seeking God’s will through waiting and listening, believing that every activity of life should be subject to divine guidance.”
–Britain Yearly Meeting Faith and Practice
The Nominating Committee’s initial committee slate is available on the elevator table. Committee nominations come to monthly meeting for approval next week. Direct feedback prior to monthly meeting to the committee: Doug, Annamary, Debbie, Jim, and Rick.

It has also been used to divide progressive movements, gaining visibility and traction as wealth and income gaps widen. To be successful, a progressive movement will need to address antisemitism. Registration needed; click here to live-stream the event.
Friends General Conference (FGC) will again provide a discount to the upcoming White Privilege Conference, (March 20-23 in Cedar Rapids, IA,) a secular conference that unpacks how whiteness originated; what systemic racism looks like; how race, gender, and class intersect (as privilege, oppression, or a combination); and more. Registration is now open. Click here to pre-register through FGC in order to receive the discount code to apply to your registration and to request hospitality with local Friends.
