Mid-Morning Program next Sunday at 10:15: Continue the mood and camaraderie of Fall Together during the mid-morning program with getting-to-know each other games and activities followed by a sing-along. Be part of the fun!
Ministry and Counsel Committee will meet this Thurs at 7 in the conference room. Ministry and Counsel oversees and cares for the worship, spiritual, and community life and care of membership of the Meeting. It supports and guides ministry/ ministers, pastoral care and attends to requests for membership and marriage under the care of the meeting. Members of Ministry and Counsel are Sandy (clerk), Bill, Terry, Stephen, Heidi, Keitha, Nettie, and Carolyn.
Quaker Voluntary Service “Fun”raiser event! Saturday, Oct 13th, 4–7 PM, at Twin Cities Friends Meeting. Live music from Tom Wells’ the Selby Ave Brass Band, food trucks, QVS Fellow introductions by site staff, and a fun welcome ceremony needing your simple participation. Mike Huber, QVS national staff member, along with the QVS Fellows will have a Q&A session at 6 PM. And, of course, there will an opportunity to financially support QVS and further this exciting project! Please come show your support!

Northern Yearly Meeting (NYM) Fall Interim Session Oct 19-20, at Twin Cities Meeting (TCFM), 1725 Grand Ave, St. Paul. Sessions run 7-9 PM Fri and 9-5 PM Sat. Attending these interim session allows you to meet NYM Friends and enjoy and learn from the life and business of Northern Yearly Meeting. Hospitality is being coordinated by Laël Gatewood (TCFM). Northern Yearly Meeting seeks a middle school program coordinator, starting ASAP. Please approach Friends who you think would be excellent in the position and encourage them to apply! The Coordinator is responsible for leading two retreats during the year and for leading the middle school program at NYM Annual Session. Earlham School of Religion is currently accepting applications for the Tom Mullen Ministry of Writing Fellowship for the 2018-19 academic year. The recipient will spend the Spring Session (Jan – May, 2019) at ESR working on a “publishable” manuscript while attending a Ministry of Writing class. Applications due Oct 15. COMMUNITY EVENTS
ISAIAH has phonebanks Suns- Thurs, 6-9 pm at the ISAIAH office (2356 University Ave. W, Suite 405, St Paul) to engage voters of faith around issues of racial and economic justice and to encourage them to vote. Before every phone shift, there will be a grounding and training. Please sign up for a shift today. ISAIAH is a multi-racial, state-wide, non-partisan coalition of faith communities fighting for racial and economic justice in MN.
ISAIAH will also offer a Minneapolis School Board forum on Mon, Oct 15, 6-8 pm at Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church, 2315 Chicago Ave S, Mpls. We will engage all the candidates for Mpls School Board about how they will lead to put equity at the center of their decisions and how they help to ensure that every child in Minneapoils has access to a quality education.. Parking vouchers and childcare provided. Social time with refreshment from 8-8:30.
