MEETING SCHEDULE AND PROGRAM
TODAY
10:00 – 11:00 AM meeting for worship (semi-programmed): Emily Asch, speaker; Dave Bostrom, musician
care of meeting, Gib Pellet; Barbara Mohr (mic)
Quaker reminder: Do not assume that vocal ministry is never to be your part. Faithfulness and sincerity in speaking, even very briefly, may open the way to fuller ministry from others. When prompted to speak, wait patiently to know that the leading and the time are right, but do not let a sense of your own unworthiness hold you back. Pray that your ministry may arise from deep experience, and trust that words will be given to you. Try to speak audibly and distinctly, and with sensitivity to the needs of others. Beware of speaking predictably or too often, and of making additions towards the end of a meeting when it was well left before. (Britain Yearly Meeting Advices and Queries)
Following the closing handshake, we will take time for introductions; there will be a few moments to share joys and concerns; and pre-arranged announcements may be made by the closer or the person who has made the prearrangement. (Preference and general practice is that all announcements be submitted for the bulletin.) Please be sensitive to the need Friends might have to be released so they might go on to planned activities of their day and keep announcements brief.
Today at the rise of worship: new member welcome for Juliet and Ellen. Come warmly welcome them both, learn more about each of them, and celebrate the gifts they bring to the Meeting.
UPCOMING MEETING EVENTS
Children and adults are encouraged to participate in worship as much as they are able. If you anticipate needing to leave the meetingroom before the close of worship, please sit by a door to minimize disruption. ALSO, if you arrive before 10 AM, consider leaving seats near the doors available to those who come into worship after 10.
