MEETING SCHEDULE AND PROGRAM
TODAY
10:00-11:00 meeting for worship (semi-programmed): Frank Bacon, speaker; Stephen Snyder, musician; care of meeting, Sandy Olson and Dave Bostrom (closer); Tom Wells (mic)
11:00-12:30 worship with attention to business: Ranae Hanson, acting clerk; Stephen Snyder, recording clerk
“The meeting for business, if it be Spirit-filled and properly understood by those present, is a hands-on, laboratory-filled experience in which the whole fellowship comes face to face with the Spirit’s demands for the sacrifice of time, treasure, convenience, and prejudice. When opinions differ widely and the need for spiritual discernment becomes crucial, the best of Quaker business techniques alone will not suffice; then we are driven, as never in a meeting for worship, to seek that spiritual covering which alone can give the fruits of the Spirit, which can sustain harmony while waiting for the right leading.”
~ Bill Taber
Meeting for worship will move into worship with attention to business with time only for visitor introductions in-between.
Social Committee Thanks You – A great big hug and thanks to all those who brought food to last Sunday’s potluck, shared in conversation, helped set up the meal. It was truly a “many hands make light work” day. We appreciate your assistance.
UPCOMING MEETING EVENTS
Children and adults are encouraged to participate in worship as much as they are able. If you anticipate needing to leave the meetingroom before the close of worship, please sit by a door to minimize disruption. ALSO, if you arrive before worship begins, consider leaving seats near the doors available to those who join worship late.
The Ministry and Counsel Committee will meet this Thurs, July 12th. M&C oversees and cares for the worship and the spiritual life of the Meeting and the pastoral care of members / attenders. Committee members are: Sandy, Heidi, Bill, Keitha, Terry, Nettie, Stephen, and Carolyn.
Plan to come to the new member welcome for Juliet and Ellen on July 22 at the rise of worship. Come to warmly welcome them and to learn more about each of them and celebrate the gifts they bring to the Meeting.
The Nominating Committee is looking for one or two more people to join the Care of Worship (Semi-programmed) Committee, planning, scheduling, and caring for the second meeting for worship. Responsibilities include closing worship as well as finding microphone carriers, musicians, and planned speakers. Speak with either co-clerk, Judith or Clifford with interest or for more. If you wish to offer ministry of carrying the mic or playing music or you feel you have a message for worship, let Judith or Clifford know that too!
