MEETING SCHEDULE AND PROGRAM
TODAY
10:00 – 11:00 meeting for worship (unprogrammed): care of meeting, Lucia Kalinosky and Clifford Goltz; John Dunham (mic)
Quaker Etiquette reminder: Give the living silence time to envelope us after a message is offered. Allow yourself and others to rest in that silence for several minutes before rising to offer additional vocal ministry.
Following the closing handshake, we will take time for introductions; there will be a few moments to share joys and concerns; and pre-arranged announcements may be made. Preference and general practice is that all announcements be submitted for the bulletin.
You are welcome at the potluck TODAY at the rise of worship. Please stay, even if you didn’t bring a “pot” with you! To regulars – please help this do-it-ourselves effort by refreshing water pitchers as needed, clearing dishes, washing and drying dishes and tables, etc. Many hands enable everyone to enjoy leisure in the afternoon!
UPCOMING MEETING EVENTS
We are currently on the summer schedule – one worship at 10 AM – with unprogrammed worship on first and third Sundays; semi-programmed worship on second and fourth Sundays. Child care thru age 6 is available from 10-11. Children are welcome upstairs – through the first hymn or until they get restless – or they may go directly downstairs.
Next Sunday at 11:00, worship with attention to business. Agenda includes: continuing to host the community choir, hosting a (rescheduled) contemplative concert in July; a proposed transition minute; Arne Anderson’s memorial minute; committee reports. Please come add your measure of Light and be part of the discernment.
A Message from your Social Committee about Potluck Sundays: All the wonderful food brought to share is so
appreciated! Below are a few points that will help the potluck run smoothly:
1. Cut veggies and fruit as necessary. Space for food prep is limited so do as much as you can before you arrive.
2. The oven and stove top are set low for warming, not cooking.
3. You are welcome to use the stove for cooking as long as you mind your food until it is cooked and ready to be kept warm.
4. List the ingredients of your contribution on a post-it size paper. Committee members will put the list next to your dish.
5. Remember to collect your pan or casserole dish at the end of potluck.
6. Relaxed interactions and conversation are precious parts of potlucks. Social Committee members want to be respectful of the spirit flowing in conversations when the meal is over. If you see people starting to wipe tables and put away chairs, please consider moving your conversation to an adjacent room, or continuing your conversation while helping the clean-up effort.
The Ministry and Counsel Committee meets this Thurs at 7:00 in the conference room. If you have a pastoral care request for the committee or a concern you wish it to consider, please contact the clerk or a committee member: Sandy (clerk), Heidi, Bill, Terry, Nettie, Carolyn, (and currently out of town, Keitha and Stephen.)
Interested in gardening? Meeting gardeners (currently Clifford, Rae Beth, Betsy, and Sarah) meet at 6:30 PM at the meetinghouse on the first and third Thursdays of the month, June – September. Come when you can for satisfying fun playing in the dirt, fabulous people, lots of laughs, and glorious ice cream at the occasional “meeting” at Sebastian Joes! Questions? Contact Clifford.
Bring, or ride, your bicycle to worship next Sunday, June 10. Repair and maintenance help will be available for your trusty steed enabling a wonderful summer of riding. Bring your questions and insights. Come to the basement at the rise of worship with attention to business, around 12:30. Proper helmet adjustment for safe riding also offered.
Lend your elbow grease and make the meetinghouse sparkle! Property Committee is organizing our annual spring cleaning for June 24 at the rise of worship. Save the date for some good, clean fun with Friends!
