Topics will be Quaker worship, testimonies, business process and Quakerism in daily life. Brief presentations followed by discussion; childcare provided. Flyers are available on the table by the elevator. You can sign up there also. Sessions are offered by Ministry and Counsel and Welcoming and Outreach Committees. The Peace and Social Concerns Committee will show The Mask You Live In at the meetinghouse this Tues, Feb 20th, at 7 pm. The documentary follows young men of different ages, races, and circumstances as they struggle to stay true to themselves while negotiating America’s limited definition of masculinity. Pressured by the media, their peer groups and even the adults in their lives, the protagonists confront messages encouraging them to disconnect from their emotions, devalue authentic friendships, objectify women, and resolve conflicts through violence. The Mask You Live In illustrates how we, as a society, can raise a healthier generation of boys and young men. The film is not suitable for viewing by those under the age of 16.
The Peace and Social Concerns Committee will meet this Wed, Feb 21st, at 7 in the conference room. All are welcome.
SAVE THE DATE: OCTOBER 6 and plan to spend the day with Friends at French Regional Park for Fall Together!
