“For it is life we want. We want the world, the whole beautiful world, alive – and we alive in it. That is the actual God we long for and seek. Yet we have already found it, if we open our senses, our whole bodies, thus our souls. That is why I have written and intend to continue until someone among you takes up the happy work of keeping the chain letter of the soul moving along into whatever future will come.” -Bill Holm
Copies of the ad hoc Transition Committee’s proposal to monthly meeting are available on the bulletin table.

UPCOMING MEETING EVENTS
Children and youth are always welcome in meeting for worship. Friends should be mindful of the presence of young people who might be in worship in the summer months. Pray for vocal ministry that might be meaningful to them, and be sensitive to the inappropriate nature of some subjects.
You are welcome to the potluck next Sunday following worship! Take advantage of the summer schedule which allows everyone easy access to share a potluck! To regulars, bring lots so we feel confident inviting visitors to stay!
Monthly meeting for business approved the 2016-17 contributions to the Trustee Building Fund and to other organizations which MFM supports – a total expenditure of $14,785. Along with approving the expenditures, monthly meeting encouraged members who are able to increase donations for several months to make up the resulting $6,190 deficit for the fiscal year.
Sign up to bring food for coffee and conversation following worship this summer. The sheet is on the elevator table.
Property Committee’s clean-up day has been rescheduled for June 25th following worship. Rags and cleaning solutions supplied – bring willingness and some elbow grease as we wash windows and tend to other annual tasks. Tackle a window or two before you leave the building to help make the work manageable! Refreshments offered to help keep up your strength!
The Meeting library is a valuable resource for all to share. Currently, dozens of items have been checked out for more than a year. Please check your shelves to see if you have any library materials that can be returned so that others may make use them! Some new additions to the library include: The Essential Elias Hicks by Paul Buckley; Jesus & Buddha: the Parallel Sayings by Marcus Borg; Jesus: a Revolutionary Biography by John Dominic Crossan; Lessons for Dancing the Long Good-Bye: Seven Steps to Making Peace with Alzheimer’s [pamphlet] by Ellen E. Swanson; Light to Live By: an exploration in Quaker Spirituality by Rex Ambler.
There are gorgeous wooden children’s chairs waiting for a good home. The chairs were once used in the nursery but have not been needed for some time. Available for inspection downstairs.
Come for fun and challenging conversation at Daring and Delightful Dialogue across Differences (4-D), next Sun, June 4, around noon, after pot-luck. Practice and prepare for “Living Room Conversations” where two small groups on opposite sides of an issue or a political spectrum, talk it out. Practice ways to listen attentively and to break through communication barriers with curiosity, respect, and authenticity in order to connect, understand, find common ground, and seek transformation with others who happen to feel differently. For Quakers and non-Quakers alike. Questions: Nettie or Jeff.
