You must give yourself to love if love is what you’re after. / Open up your hearts to the tears and laughter
And give yourself to love. / Give yourself to love
-Kate Wolf
We are obliged to call forth and to encourage the differences in our companions along the way This is the essence of our being. This is the nature of leadership properly understood. This is the work of the one who makes peace. To be who we are – creators in the image of the Creator – we must be actively engaged in the setting free of every other person to be who she or he is intended: someone different from who we are, someone who will see the world from a different perspective, someone who will not agree with us. Anything short of such liberation is suppressive and destructive and ultimately death producing.
– Caroline A. Westerhoff
