You are welcome to the potluck brunch / lunch today at the rise of worship. Come enjoy food and fellowship, even if you did not bring anything this time! Most social times at the Meeting are do-it-yourself affairs. Look for ways to help the effort – get more forks, glasses, etc, when needed, offer to make more coffee, help clear and wipe tables, take up a dish towel to dry . . . Many hands make light work!
Prospect Hill Friends worship at Twin Cities Friends Mtg (1725 Grand Ave in St. Paul) at 4:45. A program precedes worship at 4:00 (doors open by 3:45.) All are invited. The program today is on Stewardship, led by Aleen Starkweather.

Worship in Bloomington is 7:00 this Tuesday, July 9th, at the home of Louise. All are welcome to this small, informal time of worship!
The Friendly Philosophers meet the first and last Sundays of the month (after the rise of worship) and on Tuesday evenings, 7 PM at Bush Terrace Condos: 4014 – 15th Ave. So, Mpls.
A new open White privilege group has begun meeting – Monday nights, July 1-August 5, 6:30-8:30 pm. at Twin Cities Friends Meeting (1725 Grand Ave, St. Paul.) Small group discussion and self-education on White privilege, with shared/rotating leadership. Space is limited. Donations suggested, as you are able.
Offering boxes are located on small tables near the meetingroom doors. Average contributions of $9,725 per month ($2431 per week) are needed to meet our budget. In June, $5941.32 was contributed to the general budget; an average of $1485.33 per week. If you would like to consider automating your contributions, ensuring a more regular flow of funds to meet the Meeting’s operating expenses, please talk to Suzanne, receiving treasurer.

People Camp 2013 is coming, Sun, Aug 11 – Sat, Aug 17, Northern Pines Camp, near Park Rapids, MN. People Camp, a program of Friends for a Non-Violent World, is an experience of cooperation, community living, and exploration of ideas and issues – for adults, teens, and children. Workshops, children’s program, recreation, education. Years ago many Mpls Friends attended. Want to go again? Or try it for the first time? Registration form and brochure available: fnvw.org . The next Every Church a Peace Church potluck will be tomorrow night, 6:30, at St. Albert the Great Church, 29th Str and 32nd Ave S in Mpls. Kathy Kelly, three-time Nobel Peace Prize nominee, will speak about the persistent notion that U.S. wars are protecting us from enemies, in her talk, “War Without End and the Courage to Dissent.” Kathy will share her experience of the conditions of people who bear the brunt of U.S. wars and US-supported attacks on civilians.
Nightingales Annual Summer Gathering: Friday evening July 26 – Sunday lunch, July 28 at the home of the Greenlers in Stoughton, Wisconsin. All are welcome. Nightingales are mostly Quakers, mostly from WI and MN, who gather to sing over a weekend three times a year. Singing, sharing, hiking, work shifts, visiting, eating; Sunday includes meeting for worship. Anyone who likes to sing is welcome – it’s okay to come for part of the weekend. Food will e potluck – we will prepare our meals using everyone’s food contributions.
Our Muslim neighbors are preparing for Ramadan and will host a series of open houses at area mosques. Ramadan is the month in which Muslims abstain from food and drink from sunrise to sunset. The fast is embraced to learn compassion, self-restraint and generosity. Each evening the fast is broken with a meal called Iftar. If you would like to participate in an Iftar dinner and conversation, registration is required: mnchurches.org, (click on “Register to Attend Taking Heart Ramadan Dinners”.) Dates: July 10, 14, 18, 22, 24, 25 and August 1.
