TODAY

Today marks the beginning of our summer schedule: unprogrammed worship at 9:30; semi-programmed worship at 11:00. There is no adult program or first day school until next September. Child care is available all morning.

Child care today is in the lower level with Susie Kanemitsu.

Prospect Hill Friends Meeting will meet today, May 27th, for a program at 4pm – worship sharing, facilitated by Karl Knutsen on the topic of “What are you reading?” – followed by meeting for worship at 5pm. PHFM is currently sojourning at TCFM. All are welcome to join us for a program of richness and followed by worship.

HOLD IN THE LIGHT

and CONGRATULATIONS to more graduates: Devin Helfrich, MS in Environmental Policy from MIT and Adam Flores, MEd from Harvard.

MEETING MATTERS / CALENDAR

Next week, all are welcome to the monthly Sunday potluck lunch. To regulars, please bring plenty of food so there will be ample to accommodate those at the end of the line. Also, please label your pot-luck item/s with ingredients or your name so those with allergies, vegetarians, etc, can participate.

The Property Committee, on behalf of the Meeting, extends a hearty thank you to all those who stayed and cleaned windows and did various odd jobs around the meetinghouse! Many hands made a big job manageable. Thanks to all who helped!

See the new MFM website, launched only recently. Thank you to David Woolley, the website designer, for his dedication, thoughtfulness, discernment, consultations, creativity and time spent to create it!

Zephyra and Roland Shepherd Scholarship applications are due June 10th. This scholarship for post-secondary education was started by the Shepherds in 1977. Selection criteria and applications are on the long table in the east hall. Applications should be mailed back to the meetinghouse or put in the Shepherd Scholarship file in the blue box.

A number of members who don’t drive would like to come to worship. If you can offer a ride from time to time, or regularly, please talk to Pat Jones or call or email the meeting office: 612-926-6159; office(Replace this parenthesis with the @ sign)minneapolisfriends.org

Thank you to Nancy Peterson who is retiring from Meeting custodial work, Nancy Helfrich who is continuing and Thomas VandenDolder who will be working with Nancy Helfrich to clean the meetinghouse this summer.

Carole Mitchell (formerly Adelsman) has sold her house in Arizona and is moving to a new house she is building in Ottertail City, MN.

Phena Shimaka has a dream of cattle and chickens, and a Friends retreat center on a farm near Pine City. You can help by being part of a community weekend, June 2-3. You can work or you can just enjoy the farm and barbeque; you can camp or stay a few hours. Contact Nancy Peterson, nancypeterson23(Replace this parenthesis with the @ sign)gmail.com

Offering boxes are located on small tables near the meetingroom doors. To meet our budget obligations, we need to average $2,204.00 in donations per week. In the month of April, we received $4,654.00. Thank you to Friends who generously support the Meeting through your presence and ministry at worship and at business meeting, on committees, in care for others and the community, bringing pot-luck food, teaching as well as financially.
